San Antonio Here We Come

I've put off posting this because we didn't want to jinx ourselves; but, everything seems to be moving as planned, so, I'm happy to officially announce that we are moving to San Antonio, Texas in June! Brent signed a contract with a corporate dental group called Brite Now (Monarch Dental) and he will be working in a brand new office on the very north side of San Antonio in an area called Stone Oak. It's a beautiful location and the office will not open until we get there in June and as of now Brent will be the only doc there. Brent was a little disapointed to be taking a "corporate" dental job, but it seems like a great opportunity, a good fit as far as location, hours & pay goes...and most importantly, it's not school anymore!!

The biggest coincedence is that it happens to be literally 3 miles from the only people we know in San Antonio...Alyssa & Grant (and Olivia). (Thanks again Alyssa for a wonderful dinner and having us over). It's also about a block away from the temple. When Brent was out for his interview, one of the associates drove him over to see the office and they drove right by the temple. She then proceeded to tell Brent all about the temple & the mormon church (Brent then reminded her that he did grow up in Utah & that he himself is LDS).

We just got back this week from San Antonio and were fortunate to be able to find an amazing apartment. We spent the first day looking at houses but couldn't secure anything because no one wanted to hold a house for 2 months. I also got a little sad looking at the houses because they were not nearly as nice as our condo and we've spent so much time over the last 6 years, we hated to move down. But we ended up finding these brand new apartments in a beautiful neighborhood that just happens to look over the new JW Marriott Resort (we figured that would be a seller for my dad). You can check out our new place at this link: http://www.towersattpc.com/Floorplans.html#

Unfortunately, we didn't think to take any pictures while we were there. But here's Logan checking out the San Antonio park...he loved the rocks!!
And thanks again to Mom & JT coming out to watch Logan so Brent & I could house/apartment hunt all week!!

New Shoes

We finally purchased Logan his first pair of "real" shoes. Up until now he's just been wearing these mocassin things from Target...mini stars, robeez knock offs (I love them!!). But, now that he's truly walking around everywhere, including outside, it was time that we get him something a little more durable.

So we took him to Stride Rite, got his litte feet measured, picked out some shoes and tried them on. When we stood him up with his new shoes on and tried to get him to walk it looked liked we had strapped huge moon boots that weighed 50 lbs onto his feet. It was the funniest thing to watch. By the time we got him home and stood him up he pretty much refused to walk and would just stand there looking at his feet then at Brent & I. Then he'd just plop down and start crying...it was really quite sad. Finally after 2 days of this, he figured out that he could walk in his new shoes.

Please ignore the very bizarre outfit he has on!

SOLD! (Well, "in contract")

I know I'm very delayed posting this, but we had the condo up for less than 2 days and are now in contract for full asking price!!! Yeahhhh! We won't be closing until June 8th, so we're just holding our breaths until then & praying that everything moves forward as planned. Fortunately, we've continued to have quite a bit of interest in it, even though it's listed as in contract, so I feel ok that we'll be able to sell it if anything happens with these buyers. So far so good though!

Logan helping

Some planters that we bought to put on our patio were being stored in our living room for about a week and Logan thought it was great fun to crawl in & out of them. I was able to get in very easily but getting out was a little rougher & he pretty much did a somersault each time he tumbled out.

Even more fun was helping dad figure out how much space we had in our corner cabinet for a shelf! As soon as he discovered that he could crawl in & out of here he would beeline for the cabinet as soon as I set him down when we got downstairs. He even found it hysterical when I closed the door on him and started knocking! Too cute!
