My Sleeping Boys

Last night Brent, Logan & Indiana all snuggled up on our bed as I was putting away laundry and ironing. About 15 minutes into it, I looked up and all three of them were asleep...it was pretty cute and I was lucky enough to get my camera before they all woke up.

2008 BLIZZARD!

It's officially March and it looks like the middle of winter here in Columbus, Ohio! It has been snowing nonstop since yesterday morning and it's just now starting to lighten up. We're under a Blizzard advisory until this afternoon (I think this is a first for this SoCal girl). When we took our pictures this afternoon we were at 15 inches! I think this is the most snow we've gotten since we've lived here.

As much as I am ready for spring, it's been kind of fun to see all of the snow fall and to have an excuse to stay in and veg; life gets so busy and hectic it's nice when the weather forces you to slow down and just enjoy the people you love. Brent and I have had such a fun couple days enjoying our little family; hopefully we'll be able to find the time to do this more frequently...minus the blizzard!

We took this opportunity to introduce Logan to the snow...he didn't seem to thrilled about all the cold, wet flakes falling on his face. So we quickly snapped a couple pictures and got him right back inside (10 minutes to get bundled up, 10 SECONDS outside, and another 10 minutes to unbundle)!

Indiana on the other hand was absolutely loving all the snow. It was hilarious to watch him pounce around in the snow that came up higher than him.

One of Indy's favorite things to do in the snow is to try and catch snow balls...pretty funny to watch; he can't seem to figure out why he can't catch them.

Roadtrip to Chicago and Milwaukee

Logan did awsome on his first of many roadtrips! Brent had a Prosthodontic conference in Chicago of all places in the middle of February (why not Arizona, we're dying for some warm weather!). Last year we took this opportunity to see a little of the windy city and then visit our good friends who moved to Milwaukee and we decided we'd go for it again this year with Logan. On Friday while Brent was
immersed in the world of Prosthodontics, Logan and I got to spend the day together...and what is there to do in Chicago in the middle of February...SHOP. Logan endured his first shopping trip with mom and did very well. Because it was so cold we actually only walked to the mall that was about a block away from the hotel and spent most of the time riding the elevator in the 7 story mall; I'm just beginning to realize how much longer it takes to do things with a baby & a stroller, no more escalators. Actually, we would have liked to go to the aquarium or a museum but none of them were within walking distance of the hotel and I was not quite prepared to try the subway (or a taxi) with baby & stroller by myself in Chicago (maybe when I'm a little more experienced).

Daddy & Son...do we see a resemblance??

Saturday we headed up to Milwaukee to visit Joe & Jenn (our friends from dental school). They adopted a baby (Samuel) last year who just turned 1 on Dec. 31st and then just had a baby in Sept. (Mason) and we were very excited to see there 2 little ones & show off our Logan. It was a blast to see them again and all of us were still in disbelief that we're all parents now...it still seems very surreal. (We were two of the very few couples without kids in dental school).

A couple years ago we would have headed to dinner @ Chili's and then gone to see a movie. (Jenn & I were notorious for "eating out" much to our husbands' dismay). My how our lives have changed! Instead we had a very good lunch @ Joe & Jenn's (thanks guys), spent a few hours catching up, feeding babies, changing diapers, putting babies down for naps, feeding & changing again...breathe...and then managed to get out for a little bit to have dinner at the food court in the mall because there is a play place there!! We loved every minute of it!

Before we left we took a few pictures of all us (unfortunately Samuel was already asleep). It was hilarious to see Mason & Logan next to one another; they are only 3 months apart & Mason looked like he could clobber Logan.

We sat them on this little couch to take pictures and they were just these two little blobs staring at us...niether of them can hold there heads up yet and they just kept rolling into one another. It was pretty funny to watch (although they did not seem all that amused).
