Our move to Fort Worth

I'm finally getting around to updating our blog...so here it goes. We made our 2nd move this year from San Antonio to Fort Worth in August. Brent's parents so generously came out to help us move again and we certainly couldn't have done it without their help. We were at least able to show them a little bit of San Antonio while they were out!
Logan managed to get an ear infection just in time for the move...that's why he looks so out of it in the picutres on the boat. I hadn't realized he had an infection yet (I felt terrible)! But he was feeling better in time for all the real action of packing the boxes into the truck...he LOVED the truck!
I feel right at home up here! Watch out drivers!

Our manpower!

Logan thought this was the best toy ever.

He's really bummed because it's under our dryer right now & everytime we go in to to do laundry he squats down to point at it emphatically!

It didn't take us too long to get settled into our new apartment in Fort Worth because this time we left most of our stuff in boxes & I'm not putting any decor stuff our. It's kinda sad because our walls & everything is so bare, but on the other hand there is pretty much nothing for Logan to get into so he has free reign of the house! We figured we'd probably be moving into a house in the near future, so it didn't make much sense to unpack everything just for a few months.

Quick trip to Utah

We finally made it back to Utah for a very quick visit. It's been waaaaay too long since we've been out, but Brett might be leaving for Afghanistan soon and we wanted to be sure to see him while he was on leave. It was great to finally have Logan meet all of his aunts, uncles & cousins. He had so much fun staying at grandma & grandpa's and we can't wait to get back for Christmas.

Hudson & Logan goofing around.

Only 6 weeks apart: Hudson has a great mop & logan is still bald!!

We tried to get a picutre of these two sitting together...they were obviously not as exicted about it as we were!

Loves playing with daddy.

The kids actually wanted to keep getting IN the playpen!! I was shocked.
FAMILY PICTURES

The entire family (except for Reid...photoshop?)

Grandma Franks, Mom, Dad with all the boys.

The girls are slowly starting to gain some ground in the Rigby Family.

Meredith comes to San Antonio!!!

We were so happy to have Merzy come out to San Antonio to visit the other week. We took her to the Alamo & Riverwalk, the Children's Museum (for Logan of course...), the pool & even managed to get some packing done. Here's our pics:

We totally don't look like sisters do we???

Standing by a big gun...

The Alamo was PACKED! It was waaaaay to hot to stand in line outside with Logan in a stroller, so we settled for just a picture of the outside & toured the grounds.

Logan enjoying the sites in luxury.

Our favorite part was the riverboat...Logan loved being on the boat. This was by far the best way to see riverwalk on such a hot day!

Merzy wins an award for beautifying San Antonio!! :)

Logan was loving having someone in the backseat with him to cater to his every whim.

We got to go to Alyssa's for some very delicious dessert & visit. Logan though Livvy was hilarious on the phone.

Before we went to the Children's museum we stopped for smoothies for the ride. Logan knows exactly where Jamba Juice is & as soon as we pull into the shopping center he starts signing juice. He loves his little jamba sippy cup too.

They need to make the sippy cups insulated b/c after about 5minutes his hands turn into icicles. Merzy had a great idea of slipping a couple socks over the cup.

At the Children's Museum with Auntie Merzy

Merzy's already getting him ready for outdoor adventures!

We're in Texas now...giddyup!

Ready to join the FFA!

Or maybe he'll be a scientist.

Cutie.
Now, we just need to entice others to come out & visit!!!! :)

I've found another use for our mac-daddy stroller...carrying groceries. I'm just very grateful we have elevators in our building!!

Everything but packing

I have pretty much come up with a bunch of things for us to do...and none of them involve packing. Now that we know we're leaving, I'm rushing to do as many things here in San Antonio before we go. This past weekend we took Logan to this Wildlife Ranch where you drive through in your car (with food of course) & the animals come right up to you...way fun!

The ostriches were huge & somewhat aggressive. They definitely knew where to get the food. Brent was completely freaked out by them & Logan just kept signing "more".

Pretty zebras...not interested in coming up to the cars.

Feeding something (can't remember what it was, an antelope maybe)
Notice it walking away & Logan signing "more"

Family portrait!
Logan's favorite part was the petting barn filled with tons of goats. He kept picking food up off the ground and trying to force feed this poor goat...the goat didn't want any & Logan almost shoved food up his nose!

These two baby goats loved Brent...one's literally eating his pocket & the other kept jumping on him!

Brent the goat tamer!

GROSS!! At least he knows its to brush something...now if only he had some hair to brush.

The force feeding continues!
Unfortunately the petting zoo didn't end so happy for Logan. He kept following this one mommy goat around trying to pull her tail & she finally had had enough. She turned & butted Logan in the side w/her head & he toppled down. Then the big tears started & the look of indignation that she would do such a thing!
RANDOM STUFF
We've been eating a lot of corn on the cob this summer & Logan loves it. I generally give him smaller one, but he always ends up taking mine!

He actually does really well with it & devours the corn!
Logan's 2nd word:

"toothbrush"!! Very appropriate I think.

Most kids try to climb out of their cribs...mine tries to climb back in!! This kid loves his sleep!

I think this is illegal in California! He needs his bluetooth (Lightning McQueen actually has one...sad!)

cheeseball!

He pushed his new lawn mower around for about an hour the other day...no exageration!!! Well worth every penny!!

Moving Again!

Yes, this is a shock to us as well!! We've been in San Antonio a whopping 6 weeks, we've managed to unpack everything & I even got pictures hung on the wall...and now we're moving to Forth Worth in 4 weeks!

San Antonio has seemed to be a fun place to live (despite the heat) but our situation has changed and we're heading north to Fort Worth. The big clincher to this deal for me at least, was that our dear friends from dental school, the whitesides, just happen to be where we are headed. Wonderful coincidence. They have 2 young boys just a little older than Logan & we're so excited that we'll be living close to them again! We never in a million years thought that we'd be living near each other anytime soon.

We were fortunately able to transfer our lease to another apartment in fort worth (not nearly as fancy schmancy. We'll hopefully only be there for a few months & then be able to start looking for a house...and move again). Now I just have to start packing...again. I think we'll be pretty good @ moving after this...maybe we'll just hang on to the truck and open our own moving company on the weekends! Meredith is lucky enough to have scheduled a trip out to visit us in a couple weeks & now she gets to look forward to helping us pack instead of just hanging out (so sorry).

Trying to get the 3 boys to sit & smile for a picture...never going to happen (mason & samuel having the smiling down & logan's got the sitting)! Logan was so happy to have some other boys to play with!!

Logan was an angel on the 4 hour drive home & slept the entire time!!!!! I think the sun put him in a little coma. (He had a busy weekend playing with the boys).

This has nothing to do with moving, but it was too funny I had to add it. Logan came wandering out of his room yesterday with a huge grin on his face with his pants down! (great, he's learned to pull his pants down...at least the diaper was still on!)
