The Park, Petting Zoo, Disneyland, & Another First Birthday

During our stay in So Cal we were able to take advantage of the nice weather and we went to the park to feed the ducks and go down the slide, went to the petting zoo, & to Disneyland.

Logan loves the slide...but he likes it best by himself!

Boys will be boys.

Nice purse & sunglasses dad!

Loving everything about the park!

The petting zoo was a definite hit. Logan & his cousin Christian couldn't get enough of the animals.

Disneyland!

Logan was mesmerized with the carousel @ disneyland. We're hopefully going to go again while I'm here when it's not sooooo crowded. We just happen to be there on one of the most crowded days of the year. Not the best experience with a one year old!

Happy First Birthday (Again)!

Nonni couldn't resist giving Logan another first birthday party...No complaints from Logan.

He loves his sugar!

Laguna Beach

No mistaking that they're related!

I just thought these pictures were so sweet of Brent & Logan. But I'm mad at myself for not grabbing Logan's binky out of his mouth...oh well, he's still cute!
Everytime we come back to California Brent and I like to go to Laguna Beach to walk around. But we haven't made it out there for awhile, so we were sure to get there this time. This is where Brent proposed 7 years ago & Logan was just a twinkling in our eyes! This was also Logan's first trip to the beach too.

As soon as we walked out onto the sand Logan was squirming to get down...I could barely hold him. But it was kinda a chilly and the sand was damp so I didn't want to let him roll around in it. Finally I gave in and let him sit on the edge of a blanket and immediately his had went to the sand and back to his mouth. I thought, ok, he'll taste it and spit it out because its well, sand. But nope, he put it in his mouth, thought about it for a second, then went back for more. I was mortified...I could get the sand away from his mouth. Well, after talking to my mom, apparently I did the exact same thing as a child...ate sand! I guess we know where he got that taste from!

Christmas 2008

Ok, I'm finally getting around to posting some christmas pictures. I decided to stay in California for an extra two weeks to help my mom out with stuff around the house while poor Brent had to head back to freezing cold Ohio last week to finish up his last two quarters of school!!! This is the first time we've been apart for this long in a very long time & I always forget how hard it is to be apart; but, I'm grateful that he was able to sacrafice being alone for a couple weeks so that I could spend a little bit of extra time with my family here in the warm weather.

The tradition in the Peterson household is that all the kiddos (& now the grandkiddos) have to line up on the stairs while mom & dad (Nonni & Pappa) take LOTS of video and pictures of everone before coming to see what Santa has brought. Every Christmas morning is such an ordeal trying to pile everyone on the stairs...actually, its the getting everyone to the stairs that is the ordeal. And apparently in the last couple of years my mom thought that everyone should be adorned with santa hats or antlers...it really does make quite a picture!

All the "Peterson girls": Megan, Kat (david's wife), mom, meredith & me.

Logan trying to open christmas gifts. It was pretty funny to watch becuase we'd give him a present to open and he would inspect the package, then start wripping the paper, then the paper would go into the mouth and then finally he'd discover that there was a toy inside. Then he'd get really excited about the toy and wanted to play with the toy. But then we'd take the toy away that he had just discovered to give him another box with paper...he was getting a little annoyed that just as soon as he found a new toy we'd take it away from him! Maybe next year he'll catch on a little more!

Logan was fascinated with this mistletoe ornament on the tree.

The first thing Logan pulled out of his stocking was a candy cane & it immediately went in the mouth. So, since it was christmas I unwrapped it and let him try it...he loved it. We couldn't get it away from him and soon his hands, face and jammies were covered in sticky, candy cane drool!!

Dad was not thrilled that I let our little guy suck on a sugary stick so soon...I did at least brush his teeth later!

Nonni got this great rocking horse at Costco for the grandbabies...they loved riding on it and making it "nay".

I went ahead and let Logan finish off his second christmas with more sugar. He completely devoured the chocolate "yule log" cake I gave him and insisted on eating the cake I had on my plate as well. Christmas was a success!
Happy New Year to everyone!

Peterson Elf's...Elf Yourself

My sister Megan did this of 5 of us Peterson kids...I thought it was pretty hilarious. Thanks Megs for a good laugh!

I had to do one for our little family too; enjoy the "Rigby Elf's Starring Indiana, Logan, Brent & Kristen"!!

Happy 1st Birthday!

I can't believe my sweet little baby is 1 year old! It just seems like yesterday that we were bringing him from the hospital & wondering what on earth we were supposed to do with this teeny little person. Now Logan is a full 21 lbs, crawling all over the place, babbling none stop and just learned how to climb the stairs. We are so grateful to have this sweet little angel in our lives. He has brought us so much joy over the last year it's hard to imagine what our life was like without him. He makes everyone light up around him with his infectious laugh & huge smile!
We had a small birthday party for Logan with all of his "Ohio cousins". Logan loved being the center of attention!

Logan was mesmerized by the candle. We enlisted the help of all the kids to blow it out because Logan just wanted to grab it!

I thought for sure Logan would dig right in and start shoving the cupcake into his mouth, but he took his time exporing it first and squishing the frosting between his fingers before he even tried to put it in his mouth.

Finally, he took a taste...and loved it!

It didn't take long for him to get it everywhere.

Logan loved opening his gifts. This one was from Grandma Rigby. Indiana was just as intruiged!

He was very interested in the wrapping paper. We had to try & keep it out of his mouth!

And he made it to the gift.

And then it went straight to the mouth!

Our little boy is 1!!!
A video of Logan opening his gift from Grandma & Grandpa Rigby! (sorry, I can't figure out how to flip it right side up, so you'll have to watch it sideways).

Happy Turkey Day!

Logan's 1st Thanksgiving was a success! He ate turkey & potatoes like a pro & taunted Indiana relentlessly with all of the potatoes flying overboard.

Laundry Helper

I just thought these pictures were cute. Lately, Logan has
discovered the washer & dryer. He loves to watch through the glass when the washer is on and now that he can pull himself up, he pulls right up and pounds on the glass as the clothes spin around. But he especially loves it when I open the washer or dryer & he practically climbs in the washer or dryer to pull the clothes out (whether or not if I want them out).
